Welcome to the 17th FMA Supervisory Conference!

This year’s supervisory conference, titled “Europe’s Financial Future: Sovereignty and Resilience”, addresses the key challenges and transformations that the Austrian as well as the European and global financial markets need to keep pace with.

The conference will bring together industry representatives, supervisory authorities and key stakeholders to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing Europe’s financial markets.

The European financial market is navigating an increasingly complex and rapidly changing environment, marked by geopolitical tensions, technological transformation, and structural change. To strengthen resilience, Europe must enhance its capacity to act and build greater strategic autonomy in critical areas. At the same time, preserving openness, competitiveness, and innovation remains essential to maintaining the strength and attractiveness of the European financial sector. In this context, effective supervision plays a pivotal role in safeguarding stability and fostering trust in the financial system.

Arrival

Since Vienna and Messe Wien are easily and reliably accessible via the city’s well-developed public transportation network, we recommend arriving this way. Two underground railway stations, U2: Messe-Prater and U2: Krieau, are a short walk from the main entrances. Visitors arriving at Vienna Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) can take the U1 to Praterstern, from where it is either a short walk to the venue, or a quick transfer to the U2.

You can also reach Messe Wien by bicycle via the extensive cycle path network. Bicycle parking facilities are available by the main entrance.

The conference venue is accessible by car, from the A 23 motorway (Südosttangente), by taking the Handelskai exit. Alternatively, if travelling from the city centre, the venue can be reached via Praterstern.
